A TEXAS STATE OF MIND

"A TEXAS STATE OF MIND"

Welcome to the art of Texas State Artist nominee, and nationally recognized Master Craftsman photographer, Larry G. Lemons. As you can see, Lemons' art celebrates the uniqueness and spirit of the great state of Texas. The icons, attitudes, color, and history of Texas play an important role in the creation of an L G Lemons original painting or fine art photograph.

If you are interested in making a purchase, commissioning an original painting or photograph in the unique L G Lemons style, booking a speaking engagement or presentation, or just asking some questions, please contact Larry personally at LGLemonsArtist@aol.com or call 940-366-5782.

"A Texas State of Mind," shown above is L G Lemons' signature piece. It was originally painted as a 4' x 6' oil on stretched canvas triptych (three pieces). The original oil hangs in a prominent home in the North Texas area. Please explore the website at your leisure to get to know more about L G Lemons' Texas inspired art and maybe even get to know a little more about the artist himself. If you like his art, it's quite possible that you will like the artist, as well.

"Texas is a state of mind. Texas is an obsession. Above all, Texas is a nation in every sense of the word." - John Steinbeck

What Steinbeck put into words years ago about the great state of Texas, contemporary artist Larry G. Lemons has put into his Texas inspired art. It's bold, colorful, often whimsical, and bursting with Texas pride to the point of obsession. The often present red, white, and lone star on a field of blue, along with such familiar icons as longhorn and buffalo skulls, armadillos, roadrunners, horned toads, and old rusty pick-up trucks remind us that just about wherever a Texan finds himself, his heart still remains in Texas.

Lemons' art has been part of the prestigious "Official Trail of Painted Ponies," licensed by Texas Highways magazine, licensed by the City of North Richland Hills, and has been selected as the official poster image for a number of regional art shows. Google even purchased an L G Lemons armadillo print!

Lemons has had a solo exhibition of his Texas art at the internationally acclaimed Booth Western Art Museum Borderlands Gallery in Cartersville, Georgia.

Larry's art was selected for inclusion on two life-size fiberglass horses through the Mane Event Leadership Art/Charity project in Wichita Falls, as well as a life-size bird dog for the manufacturer of America's Fiberglass Animals in Nebraska. Lemons was a nominee for Texas State Artist for 2009 and the featured artist for the 2009 Arts Alive! Home and Garden Show in Wichita Falls. A one artist show at the Kemp Center's Northlight Gallery in Wichita Falls highlighted 2010. If you love art and you love Texas, you'll want to own the art of L G Lemons.

WHERE TO FIND L G LEMONS ART

You may order prints and posters directly from this website. Just click on the GALLERY button from the menu at the top of the page and then go to what interests you the most. If you have an opportunity to make a personal visit, L G Lemons' art studio and original works and selected prints are currently available at the new Texas Trails Art Gallery at 601 E. Hwy. 82 in the small historic town of Nocona, Texas (Open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 to 6 and Sunday afternoon from 1 to 5). After hours appointments are available. You may find Larry at an occasional art show/festival somewhere around the state, but with running a gallery, teaching art almost every day, painting his own works, and spending time loving grandkids, he doesn't have as much time (or energy!) to participate in too many outside shows as in prior years.

To contact Larry personally, call his cell at 940-366-5782, or e mail LGLemonsArtist@aol.com.
